“Nomen omen”, avrebbero detto i Romani: “nel nome, il presagio”.

Così Angelo D’Uva, dell’omonima cantina, raccoglie il testimone dal nonno Angelo e poi dal padre Sebastiano, dando vita a una winery che racconta il territorio, narra storie attraverso la passione e la costanza — come lui stesso ama dichiarare.

Quindici ettari di vigneti, che si arrampicano fino ai 350 metri s.l.m., piantati su suoli argilloso-calcarei, dove crescono Tintilia, Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malvasia e Trebbiano. A supportarlo nella realizzazione del sogno l’enologo Donato Di Tommaso.

Una realtà profondamente legata al Molise, una terra autentica, capace di sprigionare bouquet variegati che raccontano la ricchezza di un territorio ancora tutto da scoprire.

Un buon incipit con Fines Spumante Brut Extra Dry Metodo Charmat (Montepulciano) dalle nuance provenzali e i sentori di lampone, fragola, yogurt ai frutti di bosco, in bocca è cremoso e gustoso, lascia il palato intatto. Adatto non solo all’aperitivo ma alle chiacchiere. Si consuma in fretta.

Kantharos Trebbiano del Molise DOC 2024 dal paglierino luminoso è estroverso. Melone, salvia, rosmarino, mela, dall’assaggio fresco e sapido, è un tuffo nella bella stagione. Un pacchetto regalo con un magnifico fiocco e una bella sorpresa. Perfetto per le gite in barca. Il nome chiaramente greco ricorda i reperti archeologici rinvenuti in questa zona.

Lagena Tintilia del Molise Doc 2021 dai riflessi granato chiaro si mostra nella sua schiettezza. Prugna, menta, cacao. Il tannino lievemente astringente. Un piacere assaporarlo. Il nome della bottiglia si ispira a un antico fiasco romano. Adatto per le personalità concrete.

Dalla denominazione della contrada, in cui sorge l’azienda, nasce Ricupo Rosso del Molise DOC (Montepulciano) 2020. Sfumature a tratti purpuree che dipingono il bicchiere in modo sinuoso e consistente. Carruba, pepe nero, foxy, inchiostro di china dall’epilogo elegantemente persistente. Un sorso per intenditori con il quale confidarsi.

Egò Terre degli Osci Passito Bianco IGT (Moscato reale), un oro chiaro antico emana profumi di albicocca, uva passa, buccia di arancia caramellata su un tappeto balsamico. Amante poliedrico e perfetto per chi piace osare.

Angelo è un uomo determinato, copioso di principi, in grado di mirare l’obiettivo e centrarlo.

Nomen Omen: The Wine’s Prophetic Name

“Nomen omen”, as the Romans would say: “in the name, the omen.”

And so it is for Angelo D’Uva, of the eponymous winery, who takes up the mantle from his grandfather Angelo and then his father Sebastiano, creating a winery that tells the story of its land, conveying tales through passion and perseverance — just as he himself likes to say.

Fifteen hectares of vineyards, reaching up to 350 meters above sea level, planted on clay-limestone soils where Tintilia, Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malvasia, and Trebbiano thrive. Supporting him in this dream is oenologist Donato Di Tommaso.

A wine reality deeply rooted in Molise, an authentic land, capable of expressing a wide array of bouquets that reflect the richness of a region still waiting to be fully discovered.

    A perfect beginning: Provençal hues, with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and forest fruit yogurt. On the palate, it’s creamy and flavorful, leaving the mouth clean. Ideal not only as an aperitif but also for lively conversation. It vanishes quickly — always a good sign.
  • Kantharos – Trebbiano del Molise DOC 2024
    With a bright straw yellow color, this wine is outgoing. Notes of melon, sage, rosemary, and apple. The taste is fresh and savory, a true plunge into the sunny season. Like a gift box tied with a ribbon — full of surprises. Perfect for boat trips. Its clearly Greek name nods to the archaeological finds unearthed in this area.
  • Lagena – Tintilia del Molise DOC 2021
    With light garnet reflections, this wine is honest and straightforward. Aromas of plum, mint, and cocoa. The tannins are lightly astringent, making it a pleasure to savor. The name refers to an ancient Roman flask, the lagena. A wine suited for grounded personalities.
  • Ricupo – Rosso del Molise DOC (Montepulciano) 2020
    Named after the district where the winery stands, this red reveals purplish hues that gracefully coat the glass. Aromas of carob, black pepper, foxiness, and India ink, with an elegant, persistent finish. A wine for connoisseurs, one to confide in.
  • Egò – Terre degli Osci Passito Bianco IGT (Moscato Reale)
